Teachers in the Round Conference Keynote: Nicole Mirra, PhD

Join the NYCWP on March 23, 2019 for our spring conference: Teachers in the Round. Nicole Mirra, Assistant Professor of Urban Teacher Education at Rutgers University will give the keynote address. Her recent publication Educating for Empathy: Literacy Learning and Civic Engagement (Teachers College Press 2018) offers a compelling framework for thinking about literacy education in a politically polarized world.

Teachers in the Round will be a day of sharing innovative practices and classroom resources around reading and writing. Through a roundtable format of presentation and open discussion, you will be able to explore topics such as writing for social justice, learning in online spaces, and celebrating student voice.  Come see how you can turn ideas into a practical reality for your classroom.

The conference will provide CTLE credit.
