Closing out Connected Educators Month: 10/27 – 10-31 is the K12 Online Conference

The K12 Online Conference is a FREE, online conference organized by educators for educators around the world interested in integrating emerging technologies into classroom practice.  One goal of the conference is to help educators make sense of and meet the needs of a continually changing learning landscape. During the conference each year, presentations are posted to the organization’s conference blog.  Archived conference presentations and live events are also available, and accessible from the navigation links (organized by year) at the top of their blog.

Wonderful keynote speakers and strand presenters make this conference an outstanding and ongoing learning experience for educators worldwide.  It should come as no surprise that many of the presenters at the K12 online conference have affiliations with the National Writing Project or the New York City Writing Project.  Karen Fasimpaur, who has been one of the facilitators of the NWP’s CLMOOC and who serves as an online community organizer for Youth Voices, is one of the organizers of the conference.  Paul Allison, the NYCWP’s Technology Liaison, is one of this year’s presenters – his presentation can be found at the link, and the video portion of his presentation can be viewed below.

The K12 Online Conference is a total volunteer effort and is envisioned, planned and implemented by 4 co-conveners, several volunteers who also serve as organizers, and a small group of subcommittees.  The NYCWP congratulates its participating teachers and encourages you all to check it out!
