The NYCWP will host its second ever at-night Reading Series at KGB Bar on Tuesday, January 31st, 2017, from 7-9pm. This reading will feature the poetry and prose of the 2016 Fall Writers-in-Residence: Caroline Carty, Peter DeMarco, Jolinda Hockaday, Saara Liimatta, Naomi Person, Zacarias Rivera, and Padraig Shea. This event is free, but attendees are encouraged to patronize the bar as thanks for the donation of their space and their commitment to the literary community. The NYCWP is THRILLED to announce our phenomenal Keynote Speakers for our 19th Annual Teacher-to-Teacher Conference (#T2T17). The morning address will be provided by black southern writer and professor of English and African American Studies, Kiese Laymon. The afternoon address will be provided by Dr. Christopher Emdin, creator of the #HipHopEd social media movement and author of several books, including the NY Times Bestselling For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood and the Rest of Y’All, Too. #T2T17 will take place at Lehman College on Saturday, March 18th, 2017.
